While visiting Luoyang, the group had the opportunity to dress up in versions of traditional or costume Chinese dress wear.
While getting dressed up, the girls who were doing our makeup kept walking around the room complimenting us. For the first time in a long time, I felt truly beautiful. Even more than that, being stopped with excitement by locals and natives who were welcoming me to photographs allowed me to embrace Chinese culture on a deeper level.
We learned in group discussion later that this has become a consumer driven market, and that dressing and walking around wearing the rental costumes is not something that existed prior than even 2o years ago. It was then we found out that not everyone in the group had on traditional wear. Either way, we all had so much fun playing dress up together!
